Seedbombs for Earth Day

  • The Fishbowl 323 2nd Avenue West Seattle, WA, 98119 United States (map)

Join us in celebrating our natural spaces this Earth Day with creative environmental resistance hosted by Julianna Bernado! Learn about the history of seedbombs and craft your own (supplies provided) using Washington native seeds. Then, decorate your bombs with eco-friendly tempera paint and the intention of wishing your wildflowers luck.

Julianna Bernado (she/they) is a Seattle based ecologist and artist specializing in the connections between art and environmental justice. Influenced by their scientific background, she draws most of their inspiration from complexities she sees in the natural world. Julianna finds answers to intense social questions in the wild and uses painting as the means to convey their conclusions. They have always been inspired by fauvists' use of bright color and sees a reflection of their saturation and beastly brush work in their oeuvre. Julianna is currently completing a graduate’s certification in Natural Science Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design and has shown her work at the Fishbowl, the Magnuson Park Gallery, and RailSpur in Pioneer Square.
