We're honored to host the legendary Mx. Pucks A’Plenty - burlesque performer, activist, and founder of Fat Con & Fatlesque Fest PNW - for a dynamic talk on Saturday, May 3 from 1–2 PM

Join Mx. Pucks A'Plenty for an empowering evening with "A Body Made in My Image." Through heartfelt stories of embracing fat liberation, self-love, and rejecting diet culture, Mx. Pucks highlights the revolutionary spirit of loving oneself as they are. Discover how challenging societal norms and celebrating body diversity ignite personal and communal empowerment. This talk will inspire you to embrace your true self and join the movement for radical self-acceptance.

About the Speaker:

Mx. Pucks A'Plenty is a Black, Fat, Queer, Nonbinary, Disabled burlesque performer, producer, entrepreneur, sex positive educator, speaker, and community builder based in Seattle, Washington. Pucks is a full time artist and producer in the Seattle burlesque community and is the Executive Director of Puckduction. Pucks has performed all of the US, Canada, and Panama.  They are also the founder co-producer behind What the Funk?! An All POC Burlesque Festival and Fatlesque Fest NW.

They have been ranked in the Top 50 of Most Influential Burlesque Industry Figure for the past four years, as voted for by thousands of burlesque fans and peers worldwide by 21st Century Burlesque Magazine, named 2022 Performer of the Year by Seattle Gay News, and was one of the Seattle Pride Grand Marshals in 2023.

They have been a guest speaker at Brown University, Planned Parenthood of New York, the University of Washington, Seattle Pacific University, Lewis & Clark College, Pacific Lutheran University, and Antioch University. They have been featured in Revry TV's Submission Possible, Seattle Pride Magazine, The Seattle Times, South Seattle Emerald, KUOW, and Seattle Gay News.

A Black and Fat Liberationist, Pucks is one of the founders and Con Director of Fat Con, a three day conference that focuses on body acceptance and community building for people of size. Pucks is also the founder of Fatlesque Fest NW an all plus size burlesque festival based in Seattle, but is a newly minted board member of NAAFA.

They were born and raised in the Seattle area and are a parent to a teenager. They love to write, cook, travel, perform, nap, attend shows and events, music, road trips, and being near the ocean.

Made possible by funding from the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, this event is open and free to all.

However, for this event, we invite you to consider donating to Fat Con - an organization dedicated to improving the lives of Fat Humans through art, health, public policy, and community outreach. Our speaker, Mx. Pucks A’Plenty, is the founder of this incredible convention. All donations will go directly toward supporting them in organizing the next event.

Sliding Scale Suggested Donation: $30, $40, $50[a]

ACCESSIBILITY: Our space is ADA accessible, with a ramp located to the right of the staircase leading down to the venue. We offer a range of seating options, including chairs that are more comfortable for fat folks. We ask that guests be mindful of the privilege their body may hold when it comes to accessing public seating. If you are in an abled and smaller body, please use the smaller white event chairs to help ensure inclusive and accessible seating for everyone.
